Vem Miller, a Las Vegas resident, was arrested outside a Donald Trump rally in Coachella, California, on October 12, 2024. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Miller after finding him in possession of two loaded firearms, a shotgun, and a handgun, along with a high-capacity magazine. His vehicle, a black SUV, had a fake license plate and contained multiple false driver’s licenses and passports.

Miller, a known right-wing activist who once campaigned for a seat in the Nevada State Assembly, attempted to enter the rally with fake VIP and press passes. Upon further inspection, authorities noticed discrepancies with his credentials and vehicle registration, leading to a search that uncovered the weapons and false documents. Sheriff Chad Bianco praised his deputies for their vigilance, suggesting they may have averted a potential assassination attempt, though no formal charges for such an attempt have been made.
